David M. Vicini

David Vicini is a senior finance and operations executive with more than 20 years of experience helping entrepreneurs, investors, and families bring discipline, structure, and execution rigor to complex financial and operating environments. His career spans investment banking, regulated financial services, venture-backed technology companies, and real estate-centric operating businesses, with a consistent focus on building scalable systems, improving accountability, and translating strategy into execution.
David's work is grounded in operations leadership. He has served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer across multiple organizations, where he was responsible for installing financial infrastructure, operational cadence, and internal controls in fast-growing and highly regulated settings. At VC-backed and multinational businesses—including Neon Machine Inc./Shrapnel and The 4D Factory—he led FP&A, capital planning, M&A integration, and cross-border compliance while partnering closely with CEOs, boards, and investors through periods of rapid scale, fundraising, and strategic transition.
Most recently, as Chief Investment Officer at Pinnacle Capital Securities, LLC, David focused on investment strategy, operational scale-up, and technology integration for a FINRA-regulated broker-dealer and wealth management group. He scaled real estate, credit, and fintech investment verticals, underwriting over $1 billion in deal flow, building cross-functional teams across due diligence and investor relations, and overseeing the implementation of an end-to-end digital investor platform integrating CRM, compliance workflows, and data pipelines.
In earlier investment banking and advisory roles at Five 9 Securities, LLC and Aaron Capital, Inc., David originated, structured, and executed hundreds of millions of dollars in capital formation and M&A transactions. His experience includes sponsor diligence, underwriting oversight, investor communications, and the design of institutional-grade workflows that reduce friction between borrowers, operators, and capital providers.
David also brings hands-on experience from the operational side of residential and commercial credit. As President and Head of Operations at Sentinel Stone Financial LLC, he formalized NMLS-compliant processes, built underwriting and risk frameworks, and optimized loan origination and processing pipelines. This experience informs Bastion's wholesale mortgage brokerage practice, which emphasizes clean file packaging, realistic loan strategy, and execution discipline for owner occupied, investor, and non-QM transactions.
David also brings an operator's perspective from outside institutional finance. As an operating partner in a multi-decade family-owned winery that ultimately exited via acquisition, and as CFO of a regional services business undergoing turnaround, he understands firsthand the realities faced by business owners and families navigating growth, complexity, and liquidity decisions.
David holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He maintains active FINRA securities licenses (Series 7, 24, 63, 65, 79, and 82), California and Idaho real estate broker licenses, and active NMLS credentials (#2558489). His certifications include Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA®), numerous Fiduciary certifications through the American Banker's Association, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified AML Fintech Compliance Associate, Certified Property Manager (CPM®), Advanced Certificate in Blockchain and Digital Assets (Financial Advisor Track), Residential Mortgage Lender Certification (American Bankers Association), and Cognitive Project Management for AI (CPMAI). He is a U.S. Army veteran with service in military intelligence, where he developed the leadership, analytical discipline, and operational judgment that continue to shape his advisory approach.
